Wrong Deposit Recovery
Wrong Deposit Recovery refers to situations where a user mistakenly sends funds to Lumi Trade using incorrect information, such as the wrong network, unsupported asset, missing memo, or an incorrect destination.
Because Lumi Trade is a non-custodial, on-chain trading platform, most deposits are executed directly on the blockchain. As a result, recovery of incorrectly sent funds is not guaranteed and depends heavily on the specific circumstances.
Common Wrong Deposit Scenarios
The most common cases of wrong deposits include:
Sending funds using an unsupported blockchain network
Depositing an unsupported or unlisted token
Sending tokens to a smart contract address instead of a deposit address
Missing or incorrect memo / tag (if required)
Sending funds directly to a trading contract rather than the designated deposit flow
Can Lumi Trade Recover My Funds?
Short answer: Not always.
Lumi Trade does not custody user funds and does not control blockchain transactions. Once a transaction is confirmed on-chain:
Transactions are irreversible
Funds cannot be rolled back or canceled
Recovery depends on whether the funds are technically accessible
In some limited edge cases, recovery may be possible, but only if the assets are sent to an address or contract that Lumi Trade can technically interact with.
Recovery, if feasible, may require:
Manual smart contract operations
Engineering intervention
Additional verification and processing time
When Recovery Is Not Possible
Unfortunately, recovery is not possible in the following situations:
Funds sent to the wrong or unsupported blockchain
Assets sent to contracts with no recovery logic
Tokens sent to external addresses not controlled by Lumi Trade
Unsupported assets with no contract-level access
In these cases, the funds may be permanently lost due to the nature of blockchain technology.
How to Submit a Wrong Deposit Recovery Request
If you believe your case may be recoverable, please contact Lumi Trade Support and provide the following details:
Transaction hash (TXID)
Blockchain network used
Token name and token contract address
Deposit address used
Date and approximate time of the transaction
Wallet address used to send the funds
Providing complete and accurate information will help the team review your request more efficiently.
Important Notes and Fees
Please note the following before submitting a recovery request:
Recovery is not guaranteed, even after review
Recovery, if possible, may take significant time
In some cases, a manual recovery fee may apply
Any applicable fees will be disclosed before proceeding
How to Avoid Wrong Deposits
To minimize the risk of losing funds:
Always confirm the supported network before depositing
Verify that the asset is supported on Lumi Trade
Double-check deposit addresses and memo requirements
Send a small test transaction first
Do not send funds directly to smart contracts unless explicitly instructed
Blockchain transactions are irreversible. Careful verification is the best protection.
